Meet Jackie
Founder of Dynamic Collaborations and Creator of the Learned Bravery® Framework
Dr. Jackie Bsharah is a strengths‐based, goals-oriented Organization Development consultant and leadership and bravery coach, called “a game-changer” for her ability to simultaneously support individual and organizational change.
Jackie refers to herself as a scholar‐practitioner, one who uses well‐researched and validated theories, models, and concepts to develop practical strategies for forward movement toward desired goals. Jackie’s work is grounded in a rare combination of academic rigor, professional expertise, and hard-won personal insight. Jackie is the creator of Learned Bravery®, a science-backed, strengths-based framework designed to drive meaningful goal achievement in high-stakes environments. She doesn’t just teach brave leadership. She has lived it. From navigating homelessness and hopelessness to earning a PhD and founding her own business, she came to this work from the inside out. Her journey of cultivating her learned bravery shapes every aspect of her practice, making her a powerful and credible guide for individuals and teams moving through complexity, fear, and resistance.
She is particularly proficient at helping her clients identify and refrain from self‐limiting beliefs so that they can achieve goals, often far beyond their expectations.
Background
Dr. Jacquelyn (Jackie) Bsharah is a woman of Middle Eastern descent; her mother was Syrian, and her father was Lebanese. Growing up as a Third Culture Kid (TCK) in a strict, conservative Christian Middle Eastern home, her family followed their honored old country traditions.
At 18, she was disowned when her mother saw her exploring her own independence, an act viewed as disrespectful. This forced her to learn how to live in a world that was culturally different from the one in which she was raised; one that operated by norms foreign to her. Her desire to succeed in the world and to honor herself and her family led to the learnings she is committed to passing on to you.
Why It Matters
Growing up in a Middle Eastern, Arabic‐speaking family taught her to view situations from multiple perspectives, which she skillfully uses in her work with individuals, teams, and organizations.
Jackie just didn’t live through the transformation. She studied it. She immersed herself in the research behind family systems theory, systems dynamics, organizational behavior, and the psychology of change so she could help others, not just with empathy, but with evidence. Today, her work is grounded in both lived experience and scientific insight, equipping others to live bravely and lead bravely.
Relevant Experience
Jackie has shared her extensive expertise with multiple government entities, non-government organizations, educational institutions, and community-based agencies. Her work includes designing and implementing strategic leadership development programs, launching enterprise-wide coaching initiatives, and facilitating team development for cross-functional and scientific teams. She has coached leaders at all levels, from emerging managers to senior executives, guiding them through 360 feedback processes and the creation of tailored leadership development plans. Jackie has also co-led large-scale culture change initiatives, supported anti-racism and inclusion efforts, and advised organizations navigating complex transitions and restructuring. As part of her tailored approach, she uncovers the root causes of organizational challenges so that solutions address underlying issues, not just symptoms.
Jackie is also an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University's Institute for Transformational Leadership (ITL), where she equips leaders with the knowledge and skills to unlock potential and foster meaningful employee engagement. As part of her work at Georgetown University, Jackie teaches graduate courses for the School of Continuing Studies, where she was twice given the Tropaia Award for Outstanding Faculty. Additionally, Jackie designs and teaches graduate courses for the University of Southern California on Change Management, Organization Development, and Talent Management.
Before entering the field of leadership and organizational transformation, Jackie was a national and international anchor and correspondent for the Associated Press Broadcast News Center. She was part of the team that received the Edward R. Murrow Award for its coverage of the 9/11 attacks. Jackie’s dedication resulted in her being promoted to Executive Producer of Audio/Radio, where she led teams in multiple locations and oversaw three product lines. All this experience refined her ability to communicate with clarity under pressure, a skill that now defines her presence in boardrooms, classrooms, and coaching sessions alike.
